WASHED PATTERN TILE “RUBIN”

The tiles in this series, called “RUBIN,” were created from black and white pottery fragments washed ashore by the sea and rivers. The finished black-and-white pattern appears as a form with multiple meanings, much like Rubin’s Vase. It is a multifaceted pattern with as many interpretations as there are viewers. It is also intriguing to consider that the fragments used as its material may originally have been part of a vase.
